I am really stoked to be able to premiere this stunning video from Saskatoon (Saskatchewan) band Black Tremor. ‘Hexus Pt.II’ is one of the tracks from a new split album with fellow Canadians Sea Witch, who are from Dartmouth (Nova Scotia). The album is released jointly on CD by Sunmask Records and Hypnotic Dirge, and cassette by Sunmask.

The video had been put together by Gryphus Visual, who have been responsible for video releases from such as Cosmic Dead, Monolord and 11 Paranoias, to name but a few. The track itself is reminiscent of some of those great Constellation Records bands, especially from the turn of the Century. You get a real sense of unending space with something of a desert vibe, which is really matched by the panoramic vistas of the video.

Sea Witch’s sound could more be described as ‘epic doom’, although there is some Constellation influence there too. Together the two bands make a pretty forceful statement and I strongly recommend you check the video below. You can also stream the album via Hypnotic Dirge.

The album is released in a limited edition of 300 copies – 150 copies each through Sunmask and Hypnotic Dirge – and is presented in a jewel case with reversible covers, so that each band has its own distinct cover with the appropriate imagery! The bands and labels have worked hard on the artwork to make the imagery fit the music, to great success.

There is also a limited release of 90 copies on tape with mini-poster, out now through Sunmask.
